Chuck-E-Cheese Buffet

Recently my family and I were invited to try out the all new and improved lunch buffet at
Chuck-E-Cheese’s in Grand Prairie, TX. As a homeschooling family, we are always looking for reasons to get away from home and hopefully find other like families during lunch breaks. It had been awhile since we’d gone to that location but it had always been one of the girls’ favorite
locations hands down.

Upon arrival, we were greeted in the usual Chuck-E-Cheese’s manner, a big smile and Kid Check, also referred to as matching hand tattoos by my girls, for the safety of our family. Immediately, the friendly staff introduced us to the lunch buffet which was being served upon our noontime arrival. The $5.99 Lunch Buffett includes pizza, salad and dessert and runs Monday – Friday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Kids under 3 eat free and kids between the ages of 3 and 10 pay only $3.99. Beverages are not included in the buffet, but as always, a fountain drink purchase at Chuck-E-Cheese’s gives you plenty to last your stay. I was not only impressed with the different pizza selections available on the buffet but equally impressed with the choices of adult drinks that are now available like the perfectly brewed latte that I enjoyed..yum!

The pizza selections at the buffet included pepperoni, cheese, sausage and hamburger. The staff informed us that there were specialty ordered pizzas available upon request like macaroni and cheese, Cali Alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. My family is not much for mac and cheese but we love a great plate of spaghetti, as a result we requested the spaghetti and meatball pizza. Admittedly, I was a bit reluctant to try to this specialty pizza but after the first bite, I was amazingly surprised of this great creation. I expected a really overwhelming taste of sauce but instead was met with a warm, subtle taste of one of my family’s favorite. The girls loved the spaghetti pizza but my all-time favorite was the Cali Alfredo made of fresh spinach, mushrooms, roasted chicken and creamy Alfredo sauce.

My mom enjoyed the pizzas but couldn’t visit Chuck-E-Cheese’s without ordering the boneless wings, which are not included in the buffet. After several trips to the fresh salad bar, eating tons of pizza and dessert, the girls were ready to play all the exciting games. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that most of the games and rides at Chuck-E-Cheese’s now use game cards as opposed to tokens. This makes it easier for parents to register the card in case it’s ever lost. Parents can add money, check the balance and even share the game card value between siblings if they choose.

Well, although the Ticket Blaster is usually available for special events like birthday parties and fundraiser, the manager allowed each one of them a turn to get more tickets. This was the perfect ending to a great outing with the family. From the youngest to the oldest, we all truly enjoyed our noontime visit to the lunch buffet at Chuck-E-Cheese’s. We’ll definitely be back soon, probably with other homeschooling families, to have great food and fun at an affordable price. See you soon Chuck E!
